Newsom Tracker: Shanghai, then D.C.

Mayor Gavin Newsom has a busy day of traveling ahead of him as he prepares for a trip to Washington, D.C., but he has some business to attend to in San Francisco before he leaves.

The mayor will first head to the Asian Art Museum at 10 a.m. to offer remarks at the 30th anniversary celebration of San Francisco’s sister city relationship with Shanghai.

Afterwards, he is scheduled to swear in Mark Buell to the Recreation and Park Commission.

Newsom then hops on a flight for Washington, D.C., where he has “a full day of meetings” at the U.S. Conference of Mayors, his office said. On the trip, he will also meet with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Sen. Dianne Feinstein and other high-ranking officials to push the JobsNow program.

The mayor will return to The City on Thursday.
