Memphis To Hire Redskins Assistant Gray

Washington, D.C. (AHN) - Washington Redskins secondary coach Jerry Gray is expected to be introduced in his new job as head coach of Memphis in the very near future.

Gray was interviewed for the position, as well LSU running back coach Larry Porter.

When asked about it during a press conference, Gray deliberately avoided committing himself, and steered the conversation toward the Redskins next match up against the Eagles.

The announcement is expected to happen after Saturday, once Memphis has wrapped up the season and finished Tommy West's final game as head coach.

A former Buffalo Bills defensive coordinator, Gray has seen much success in his time in the NFL, including his playing career with the Los Angeles Rams from 1985-1991

He was named to the Pro Bowl four times, and notched the Pro Bowl MVP award in 1989.
