Gary Horn, regional president of Lowcountry National Bank, recently returned from Washington, D.C., where he met with legislators and regulators to discuss how recent banking proposals have affected South Carolina.
Horn, based in Beaufort, was one of nine bankers who visited Washington to voice the concerns of the financial services industry on behalf of the South Carolina Bankers Association and the American Bankers Association.
Personal visits were made with U.S. Reps. Henry Brown, John Spratt, Joe Wilson and Gresham Barrett. The group also met with U.S. Sens. Lindsey Graham and Jim DeMint, according to a news release.
