WASHINGTON, Jan. 4 (Xinhua) -- The power resumed at the Reagan National Airport outside Washington, D.C., on Monday, after one-hour blackout.
Courtney Mickalonis, a spokeswoman for the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority, confirmed that the power went out at noon, which is believed a problem outside the airport, and came back about one hour later.
During the blackout, the Federal Aviation Administration issued a ground hold and the Transportation Security Administration suspended security screening procedure at the airport.
The security screening was quickly resumed thanks to a backup generator at two of four checkpoints, but the flight delays would likely persist throughout the afternoon, said the spokeswoman.
The Reagan National Airport is located in suburban Washington D.C. in Virginia.
